Ayana Friedman

The part of my art that focuses on women's issues seeks to raise awareness about certain ways women have been and are often still mistreated. The themes challenge society's approach toward women, based on historical stereotypes.

I also address the struggle of women to fulfill their goals in life and pursue a professional career as well as motherhood and family life, presented through an integration of women's historical crafts.

Some of my art, particularly video installation and photography, have been collaborative efforts together with women performance artists.
